The 16th St NW corridor in Washington DC, could really be named "Ecumenical Alley" because it hosts churches, synagogues, and temples representing most of the major religions of the world! This photo Safari, led by architectural photographer and Washington Photo Safari director E. David Luria, will take us along the 16th street corridor photographing the architectural variety of these beautiful houses of worship.
Our Safari begins at the corner of 16th St and Irving NW – one block from Columbia Heights Metro – with an orientation by Mr. Luria on architectural and landmark photography. We then photograph such landmark churches as All Souls Unitarian, United Pentecostal, St. Helen Greek Orthodox, Trinity AME Zion, the Bhuddist Temple, 6th Presbyterian and Christ Lutheran, all of them facing west to catch the afternoon sun. Our Safari ends with a real treat – an opportunity to photograph inside Foundry Methodist Church with its magnificent stained glass windows and ornate interiors.
Safari fee includes transportation from place to place and a $10 donation to Foundry Methodist Church.
